Dr. O. Jameson Stokes joined the Huntsville community in 2010. He completed a pain medicine fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Stokes was Chief Resident during his anesthesiology residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Additionally, Dr. Stokes was an assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine.
Dr. Stokes graduated from Dillard University in 1996 then earned a M.S. from the University of West Georgia in 1999. He attended the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating in 2003, and completed a general surgery internship with the University of South Alabama and Carraway Medical Center.
At Alabama Pain Center, Dr. O. Jameson Stokes specializes in the care of chronic pain patients by focusing on the interventional, pharmacological, physical, and psychological aspects of pain management. His clinical and research interests include neuropathic pain states including post-thoracotomy pain syndrome. He provides state-of-the-art treatments for chronic pain, including the use of implantable dorsal column stimulators, implantable drug delivery systems, radiofrequency ablation, and kyphoplasty.
Dr. Stokes is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. His professional memberships include the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the International Spine Intervention Society.
Dr. Stokes enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
