Dean Willis graduated in 1982 from the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical School. He completed an internship in General Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in June 1983. He went on to enter residency in Anesthesiology at Texas Tech, completing this in June 1985. In 1987, he completed a fellowship in Pain Management at Texas Tech.

In 1987, Dr. Willis founded the Alabama Pain Center (APC) where he also serves as Medical Director. He is also founder of the Alabama Sleep disorder Center (ASC) and the Alabama Fibromyalgia Center (AFC). He has 22 years experience successfully treating patients with Fibromyalgia.

He is an international pain medicine lecturer and published investigator and author in multiple pain journals and textbooks. He has served as Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS).

Dr. Willis enjoys spending time with his family – wife Lori, children Adam, Ashley, Conner, Dalton, and Saylor. He enjoys golf, boating, scuba diving and hiking (he is also a former sky diver). He enjoys all sports, especially watching Chicago Cubs baseball.
