The specialized field of medicine known as Pain Management has been one of the
most rapidly developing areas of medicine for the past 10 to 15 years. With
recent breakthroughs in our ability to diagnose and subsequently treat conditions
of chronic pain previously untreatable, the field has captured much attention
from multiple specialists as well as the general public. Certain disease
states ranging from diabetes to cancer to arthritis have as a major factor chronic
pain.
Previously untreatable, the field of Pain
Management now has the ability to provide pain relief to patients with these disease
processes. Additionally, many injuries such as low back strain injuries,
some requiring surgery and some not, previously untreatable, are now responding
to chronic pain management therapies. No longer are severe migraine headache
syndromes incapable of being controlled, but now through the efforts of pain management
physicians these patients are likewise finding comfort and quality of life.
The physicians of the Alabama Pain Center have
received specialized training to identify chronic pain problems and render satisfactory
and successful treatment.
